Pet Boarding in Mandeville
We know that it can be quite stressful to leave your pet when you leave town. This goes doubly if they are feeling ill or when they are recovering from a veterinary surgery or other procedure. At Riverside Veterinary Hospital, our veterinary team is here to help put your mind at ease in these situations.
We are proud to provide comprehensive boarding services when required to all of our patients. We also offer medical boarding services for pets suffering from conditions that standard boarding services would be unable to accommodate and offer specialized accommodations for exotic pet boarding.
Pet Boarding: A Typical Day
Dogs Boarding
Every morning, dogs who are staying with us will venture into our spacious outdoor run for some fresh air before their breakfast. While outside, your pup's kennel will be disinfected, cleaned and stocked with fresh linens.
Depending on the individual pup's physical ability, we will walk each dog that stays with us on a regular schedule. Although generally, we take each dog out for two walks a day.
Your dog will also have supervision throughout the day both during walks and while they rest. In the evening, dinner is served, and then we have one last walk before bedtime.
Cats Boarding
We will feed your cat according to your specifications and their own dietary requirements to make sure their routine while with us is as close to what it is while they are at home.
We provide daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned and disinfected periodically throughout the day.
Additionally, we refresh linens and clean your kitty's room daily. Our cat boarding area is separated from the dog area to ensure your kitty feels relaxed and safe while they stay with us.
Exotic Pets Boarding
We are also proud to offer specialized accommodations for boarding exotic pets at our veterinary hospital. Your pet's kennel will be tailored to their unique habitat needs, including ensuring the temperature is at the right level, the kennel is the right size for their comfort and their diet remains unchanged from what they usually eat while they live at home.
Like with dogs and cats, we are also able to offer social time to our exotic boarders if they would like and according to their needs. If you have a chatty bird, we will be sure to chat right back for as long as they need.
Medical Boarding
Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians and nurses, who will administer medications and watch over them closely. Any required medications will be administered to your pet on the same schedule they are used to at home.

Boarding fees vary based on the duration of the stay, the size of the pet, and special medical requirements. That said, our pricing is affordable and competitive, and we welcome you to contact us for a quote.
- What time should I drop off and pick up my pet?
All pets must be dropped off or picked up during regular office hours. Reservations are recommended, especially for holidays and summer weekends. During these times, we recommend that you call 2-3 weeks in advance to increase the chance that a spot will be available.
- What should I pack for my pet?
Food: We provide food for pets staying with us. However, please feel free to bring enough of your pet's regular food to last the duration of the stay.
Medication: If your pet takes any medication, bring it along for our staff to administer.

- What if my pet needs to take medication?
We will be glad to administer your pet's medications while they are with us.
- Can I get updates about my pet during their stay?
Yes, feel free to call us during your pet's stay for updates. If there is a problem, we will contact you via the emergency contact information you provide.
- How should I prepare for my pet's stay?
Each animal is different. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.
Step 1: Contact us to get started
Call us to book, and to discuss details about your pet and your boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.
Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.
Step 2: Book a trial stay
We want to be sure that we are a good fit for your pet before their extended stay with us. A trial stay consists of a daycare where we are able to take some time and assess your pet's temperament to help ensure they will fit right in, both with us and with the other boarders.
Step 3: Set your pet up for success
On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.
Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful and confident during the separation.
- What do you feed animals that don't have their own food?
For pets that are not on a special diet, we provide XXX pet food.
